At Castle Garden School, we provide an ambitious, inclusive and personalised curriculum that recognises the unique strengths, needs and aspirations of every student.
Across our two sites, Castle Garden and Castle Gate, our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, develop knowledge and skills, promote independence and prepare students for the next stages of their education and life.
While each site offers a distinct curriculum tailored to the age, developmental stage and individual needs of its learners, both share our commitment to providing meaningful, engaging and purposeful learning experiences.
Castle Garden Curriculum
At Castle Garden, we provide a highly personalised and adaptable curriculum that recognises each student’s individual needs, strengths and aspirations. Our approach ensures that learning is meaningful, engaging and appropriately challenging, enabling every young person to develop confidence, achieve their potential and make progress from their individual starting points.
Through personalised learning pathways, small class sizes and a nurturing, therapeutic and autism-friendly environment, we support pupils to develop their knowledge, skills and independence.
Our curriculum combines structured learning with practical experiences, creativity and opportunities for exploration. We offer a range of enrichment activities, including PSHE, Forest School, Performing Arts (music, movement and drama), Food Exploration, Life Skills, Gardening and Horticulture. These experiences encourage curiosity, develop social and communication skills, and provide opportunities for students to discover and develop their interests.
Our curriculum is further enriched through assemblies, themed activities and access to a wide range of texts and books, supporting students’ personal development, communication and enjoyment of learning.
Our aim is to support every student to become:
- A successful learner who enjoys learning, makes progress and celebrates their achievements
- A confident individual who develops the skills and independence to lead a safe, healthy and fulfilling life
- A responsible citizen who contributes positively to their community and the wider world
