At Castle Garden School, we provide an ambitious, inclusive and personalised curriculum that recognises the unique strengths, needs and aspirations of every student.
Across our two sites, Castle Garden and Castle Gate, our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, develop knowledge and skills, promote independence and prepare students for the next stages of their education and life.
While each site offers a distinct curriculum tailored to the age, developmental stage and individual needs of its learners, both share our commitment to providing meaningful, engaging and purposeful learning experiences.
Castle Gate Curriculum
At Castle Gate, we provide an ambitious, broad and personalised curriculum designed to meet the needs of pupils whose primary area of need is autism, alongside a range of additional and complex needs.
Our curriculum recognises that every young person is unique, with individual strengths, interests, abilities and aspirations. We provide a structured, supportive and autism-friendly learning environment where pupils can develop confidence, build positive relationships and engage in meaningful learning experiences.
Our approach combines academic learning with opportunities to develop communication, social understanding, emotional regulation, practical life skills and independence. Learning is carefully adapted to each pupil’s developmental stage and individual starting point, ensuring that progress is meaningful, achievable and appropriately challenging.
We recognise the importance of preparing young people for their next steps in education and life. Through purposeful learning, practical experiences and opportunities to develop greater independence, we aim to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and confidence to participate actively in their communities and achieve their aspirations.
At the heart of our curriculum is a commitment to recognising individuality, celebrating achievement and enabling every young person to thrive.
