Home Our Approach Curriculum

Curriculum

We provide a highly adaptable curriculum that meets each child exactly where they are, tailoring learning to their individual needs, strengths, and aspirations. Through personalised pathways, small classes, and a therapeutic, autism friendly environment, we ensure every young person accesses an engaging, meaningful and achievable curriculum that supports their progress and promotes their identity and independence.

We run carousel subjects across 2 days to offer enrichment and access to a wider curriculum. These include PSHE, Forest School. Performing Arts (music, movement and drama), Food Exploration (sensory curiosity around taste, touch and smell), Life Skills in the Kitchen, and Gardening and Horticulture.

Our curriculum is broken down into termly topics, with project-based learning as a way to draw together knowledge and skills in a purposeful outcome. We promote heuristic play, life and independence skills, creativity and enrichments to effectively engage and deliver the curriculum content. Please click on the links below to see our curriculum overview examples. All topics are supported by our whole school assemblies and a wide range of texts and books. We want all our young people to grow and develop in the following ways:

  • Successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve and celebrate this as part of our community
  • Confident individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives in conjunction with their goals, dreams and ambitions for their futures.
  • Responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society and the communities in which they live.
